The IFAC TC 2.6 on Distributed Parameter Systems strongly believes that this second IFAC Workshop on Control of Systems Governed by Partial Differential Equations is a great opportunity to enlarge our community and disseminate our researches on modelling, analysis, simulation and control of distributed parameter systems.
So, the organisation of a summer school before the workshop has been strongly encouraged, and now the Organising committee is very happy to announce that a summer school titled
An introduction to
modelling and control of systems governed by PDEs
has been scheduled in the same location from Thursday to Sunday 9-12 June 2016. Similarly to the workshop, this summer school is an IFAC / IEEE CSS joint event.
The scope of the summer school is to provide a succinct but rigorous introduction to systems modelled by partial differential equations. The school is open to all aspiring scholars in any area of mathematics or engineering who wish to work on PDEs of any kind (whether theoretical or applied), and it is especially addressed to doctoral students and young postdoctoral scholars. The aim of the school is to deepen into both theoretical developments and applications. The school focuses on four main topics:
- Modelling,
- Analysis and stability,
- Numerical aspects,
and
- Control design.
